As an organization we aim to provide spiritual guidance and support to inmates in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The foundation has established groups that minister weekly in 12 different prisons, covering the entire region. We travel on a weekly basis to numerous prisons in the Western Cape to meet the growing needs.
Most of Abakhululi Foundation’s affiliated church groups are situated strategically in the Cape-Flats area, an area known for high crime rates and a high concentration of ex-offenders. This positioning allows the volunteers and coaches to be readily available to assist offenders upon release. The foundation recognizes the challenges that many ex-offenders face, such as finding employment and rebuilding relationships. The strategic positioning of Abakhululi, allows them to provide the necessary support for the reintegration of inmates released from prison.
